Jaxx Snap Ten Game Losing Streak
Date Posted: 9/2/2006

The West Tenn Diamond Jaxx snapped a season high ten game losing streak Saturday night as they defeated the Chattanooga Lookouts 5-3.

The Diamond Jaxx jumped on losing pitcher Homer Bailey (7-1) for four runs in the bottom of the first inning. Bailey allowed seven consecutive batters to reach base before he was taken out of the game. He allowed four runs on three hits with four walks without retiring a batter. Three of the four runs scored were by bases loaded walks. It was Bailey's shortest outing and first loss in Double-A ball.

Jake Fox drove in two runs while Chris Walker and Miguel Negron had two hits each to help spur the Diamond Jaxx offense. Isaac Pavlik (2-1) picked up the win. He went six innings, allowing three runs (two earned) on seven hits with a walk and seven strikeouts. Carlos Vasquez pitched a scoreless ninth to nail down his third save of the season.

Javon Moran had four hits while Chris Dickerson hit a two run homer to pace the Lookouts offense.

Game four of the five game series takes place on Sunday afternoon at 1:05 CDT. Right-hander Eddy Valdez (7-9 3.93) totes the rubber for the Lookouts. The Diamond Jaxx are undecided on who will pitch tomorrow.
